The Big Lunch 2013 – what will YOU bring to the table?

The fifth annual Big Lunch will take place on Sunday 2nd June 2013. The Big Lunch is a one day get-together for neighbours and communities, funded by the Big Lottery Fund and run by the Eden Project. The idea is simple: to get as many people as possible across the UK to have lunch with their neighbours, for a few hours of community, friendship and fun. Since starting in 2009, thousands of events have been held each year and a massive eight and a half million people took part in 2012, when the initiative formed part of The Diamond Jubilee events programme announced by Buckingham Palace.

Big Lunches come in all shapes and sizes and your event can take place in the street, garden, local park or community venue – just about anywhere you can get together with your neighbours. What you do and how you do it is entirely up to you! And it doesn’t have to cost the earth. If everyone brings a dish or some decorations and activities, you have yourself a Big Lunch!

Fancy getting involved? Sign up for a FREE Big Lunch pack, full of information, hints, tips and resources to help you get started. Just visit or call 0845 850 8181.
